Wisdom teeth removal in Toronto
A clear assessment of whether your wisdom teeth should stay or come out.
Wisdom teeth usually arrive in the late teens or early twenties, and they often raise the same question: do they need to be removed? At seesmile, the answer starts with evidence. Some wisdom teeth come in fully, sit well, and can be kept clean. Others are impacted, partly erupted, painful, or positioned in a way that may affect the neighbouring tooth.
An assessment helps separate the wisdom teeth that can be monitored from the ones that may be better removed.
Case-by-case guidance
Removal is not automatic
A wisdom tooth that is healthy, fully erupted, sitting in a normal bite, and easy to clean can often be kept and watched over time. Removal becomes more likely when a tooth is impacted, crowding or damaging a neighbouring tooth, partly erupted and hard to clean, or causing pain, swelling, or repeated infection.

Position matters
How position changes the plan
The position of a wisdom tooth changes everything. A fully erupted tooth may need monitoring only. A partly erupted tooth can trap food and bacteria under the gum. An impacted tooth may press against another tooth or sit at an angle that will not improve on its own. Imaging helps us understand which situation applies.
3D planning
3D planning and in-house care
Before removal, 3D imaging helps us map the roots and nearby nerves, especially in the lower jaw. Many cases can be handled in-house. More complex cases may be referred to a trusted specialist, and if that is the right choice, we explain why.

Aftercare
Recovery you can plan around
For most people, the first few days are the most noticeable, with swelling and tenderness gradually easing. We send you home with instructions on eating, cleaning, comfort, and what to watch for. Recovery varies from person to person.
